Cherished Care was founded by someone who spent over two decades working inside the care system — and who decided to build something better than what she saw.
"I built the company I wished had existed when I needed care for my own mother."
Cherish Angula is a qualified advanced social worker with over 20 years of frontline experience across more than 10 local authorities. Specialising in adults' social work with a focus on services for older people, she worked across community and hospital settings — assessing complex needs, coordinating hospital discharges, commissioning care packages, and advocating for people at some of the most vulnerable points in their lives.
Over the course of her career, she heard the same complaints from service users, time and again. Visits that were rushed — carers arriving, completing tasks, and leaving before there had been any real human exchange. No time to talk. No space for the social interaction that makes people feel seen rather than serviced. And a constant rotation of unfamiliar faces, making it impossible to build the rapport or continuity of care that genuinely good support depends on.
"People weren't asking for anything extraordinary. They wanted someone who knew their name, had time to listen, and came back the next week. That felt like the least we could offer — and it was rarely what they got."
Those complaints became the founding brief for Cherished Care. Every structural decision — limiting the number of carers assigned to each client, building genuine time into visit schedules, prioritising relationship over efficiency — traces directly back to what Cherish heard from the people she worked alongside for two decades.
Having also navigated the challenges of caring for her own mother, she understands the emotional weight families carry when they can no longer manage alone — and what it means to place your trust in someone you have only just met. That experience made the personal as important as the professional.
Today, Cherished Care is a CQC-registered provider with active local authority contracts in London and Bristol, delivering regulated care across domiciliary, live-in, complex care, and supported living services. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. And bespoke, individualised support is not a feature of our service — it is the service. We want every client to feel genuinely cherished, because they are — and we want every service we provide to be as cherished as the people who receive it.
To provide regulated, bespoke home care that genuinely improves the quality of life of every individual we support — with safeguarding at the heart of everything we do, and delivered by people who care about the person, not just the task.
A world where every person — regardless of age, condition or circumstance — can access exceptional care that respects their identity, their independence, and their right to live well at home.
To the people we care for: to feel genuinely cherished — because they are, and because every service we provide should be as cherished as they are. To families: transparency and open communication. To our carers: to be valued, supported, and fairly paid.
CQC registration is not a ceiling — it is a floor. We build our policies, recruitment, and quality assurance around exceeding regulatory standards, not merely meeting them.
Every person we support is treated with the same dignity and respect we would want for our own family. This is not aspirational language — it is a daily operational standard.
Familiar faces matter. We assign a small, consistent team of carers to each person — because real care is built on relationship, not roster management.
Families should never feel out of the loop. Our digital care records and family portal mean you can see what is happening, when it happened, and how your loved one is doing.
CQC registration, thorough DBS checks, robust induction training, and a quality assurance framework built by someone who spent 20 years assessing care services from the inside.
Our role is to enable independence, not create dependency. We design every care plan around doing as much as possible with people — not for them.
We are a Living Wage employer. We believe the quality of care is directly connected to the quality of working life for carers — so we invest in the people who make care possible.
A free home assessment costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It is simply a conversation — and the best way to understand whether Cherished Care is right for your family.
